ABOUT Vince Jamal
A native Barbadian based in Toronto, Vince is a singer-songwriter best known for his soul/funk style influenced by personal favourites such as Marvin Gaye and Bill Withers. He then takes those classics and adds a little Anderson Paak and Allen Stone for a modern vibe.
Vince’s distinctive style of music is about establishing a genuine and unfiltered connection with the audience through an unspoken communication of raw, profound sublevel of emotions.
Vince was exposed to music at an early age as his father is a steel pannist and his grandmother a pioneer female calypso artist in Trinidad. He became performing at local venues in Barbados in 2015 and had his first major introduction to being a full-time musician after being personally invited as a lead singer on cruise lines in 2016. In the spring of 2020, Vince moved to Toronto to pursue a career as a singer-songwriter.
