Nina Richmond

Nina Richmond’s honest vocal interpretations have earned her high praise and accolades from her musician peers and audiences alike. According to her late mother, Nina was singing before she was talking! Although well-versed in many musical styles, from Broadway to Rhythm and Blues, Nina excels in her exciting and sensitive renderings of swing tunes and Sinatraesque standards from the Great American Songbook. She has been the featured singer in the Advocats Big Band since its inception in 1991 and in the award-winning jazz quintet, Fifth Element, formed in 2016. You can also hear her singing in the R&B band, the Tokyo Giants, the 60s to 90s pop cover band, The Way Back, and in a duo with pianist, Jack Gelbloom. She has performed at high-profile events such as the Beaches International Jazz Festival, the Angel Ball for Providence Centre, the annual Eat to the Beat event for Willow and AidsBeat, as well as in numerous live music venues in the GTA, including Old Mill Toronto, The Duke Toronto, Smokeshow BBQ & Brew and The Rex Hotel. She is frequently asked to sing at private parties, weddings and even the odd book launch. Nina is the featured singer on three albums released since 2020.
